Work in thecommunity

I have worked hard to represent the residents of Alexandra Ward since election in 2013. I regularly speak and campaign on local and national media on behalf of the residents of Alexandra Ward.

My ward colleagues and I are working towards a cooperative borough, implementing the key labour administration visions in Oldham and our ward.

Working cooperatively with residents I have helped with a variety of issues – fly tipping, anti-social behavior, alley gating, bad landlords, traffic measures on high risk roads and missed bin collections.

I have communicated with residents by telephone, twitter and email during the COVID-19 pandemic to tackle a range of problems. I have kept in touch with the local community as much as possible and I look forward to becoming more active in the area again when restrictions are finally lifted. Please do contact me with any problems or council related issues. You can also read more about my work and campaigning on my website.

Some of the recent projects which my ward colleagues and I approved for our ward are Greenhill – Christmas Activities, Glodwick Cricket Club – work with young people, Grace Fitness Activities and Xanadu Dance Troup – Support of Activities.

I regularly campaign for vulnerable groups in our society and we were able to hold the first COVID vaccination clinic for people who are homeless here in Oldham. Something which I am incredibly proud of our borough for.

The Council has been at the frontline in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic; including distributing emergency food and medicine, providing vital social care, running testing centres and now rolling out the vaccination.
