This report seeks executive approval to proceed with establishing a resilient colocation hosting service for Oldham Council firewalls at Tameside and Salford data centres. This approach enhances continuity, strengthens security, and reduces single?site dependency by leveraging two geographically diverse, enterprise?grade facilities. This also facilitates the final exit from the Civic Centre Data Centre. Implementing this service will provide a stable, scalable platform for critical network infrastructure and ensure the Council’s firewall estate is protected, resilient, and future?ready.
