Communities Management Restructure

24/03/2025 - Communities Management Restructure

RESOLVED - That a review has been undertaken within the Communities Directorate senior leadership to ensure that appropriate leadership capacity exists whilst also making revenue savings and incorporating the impact of agreed VR2 proposals. Consequently, there has been a need to facilitate a wider functional alignment where appropriate and ensure that parity is achieved across the leadership structure in respect of grades, role and functions where roles have been merged. All six senior leadership positions have been reviewed. Subsequently four of the six management posts have been amalgamated into two new posts. This has created a more streamlined management structure along with a budget efficiency. For the 2 new posts (Assistant Director Community Safety and Cohesion and Assistant Director Youth and Communities) new Job descriptions have been developed to reflect the evolution of responsibilities and have been through the Councils Hays job evaluation process which has ratified the grades. To support this senior leadership restructuring a delivery post of Prevent and Cohesion Officer has been created.
