The Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee
for the Northern Care Alliance (JHOSC) aims to review the health
services offered by the Northern Care Alliance for people in Bury,
Oldham, Rochdale, and Salford. It also helps develop policies to
improve health and reduce health inequalities related to hospital
services.
The Committee is made up of three representatives
from each of the Councils of Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, and
Salford.
The JHOSC has the authority, on behalf of the
four local councils, to carry out all necessary health scrutiny
functions as outlined in part 4 of the Local Authority (Public
Health, Health and Wellbeing Boards, and Health Scrutiny)
Regulations 2013. This includes reviewing and scrutinizing health
service issues provided by the Northern Care Alliance.
