The Adult Social Care and Health Board
monitors how the Council meets its goal of ensuring residents are
healthy, safe, and well-supported. This includes caring for
vulnerable people, looking after our most vulnerable residents, and
overseeing adult services and public health efforts. The board
monitors progress in improving health, lifestyles, and care
quality, and ensures the Council and health organizations work
together effectively.
The Board will also oversee efforts to promote
active lifestyles across the Borough. It will review and examine
how health and social care services are provided in Oldham to make
sure everyone has equal access to services, health inequalities are
reduced, and local people get the best possible outcomes.
The Scrutiny Board will carry out its legal
responsibilities to:
·
Review and examine anything related to how health
services are planned, provided, and run in the Council’s
area.
·
Request reports and make recommendations to NHS
bodies and health service providers.
·
Respond to major changes in health services or other
important consultations from NHS bodies.
·
Send feedback and recommendations on NHS proposals
to the Secretary of State if needed.
·
Review all issues related to Healthwatch.
