The Licensing Driver Panel is a sub-committee
of the Licensing Committee and has these responsibilities:

Deciding on applications
or renewals for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s
Licence when the relevant Officer
refers them, especially if there are any convictions, cautions,
warnings, ASBOs, or other relevant information based on the
Council’s guidelines.

Reviewing Hackney
Carriage/Private Hire Driver’s
Licences, except for suspensions or revocations in urgent situations
related to offences, investigations, or conduct before a full
review.

Deciding on applications
and renewals for a Private Hire Operator’s
Licence when the relevant Officer
refers them, particularly if the applicant has unspent convictions
that would make them unsuitable or if deemed inappropriate by the
Officer.
·
Reviewing Private Hire
Operator Licences.
·
Deciding on applications
or renewals for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Vehicle
licence when the relevant Officer
refers them.
·
Reviewing Hackney
Carriage/Private Hire vehicle licences.
The Licensing Driver Panel will have seven
Elected Members from the Licensing Committee. At least three
Members must be present for the Panel to meet.
