Election of Chair

The Panel is asked to elect a Chair for the duration of the meeting.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that Councillor Chauhan be elected Chair for the duration of the meeting.

Apologies For Absence

Minutes:

There were no apologies for absence received.

3.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

That, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they contain exempt information under paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, and it would not, on balance, be in the public interest to disclose the reports.

Minutes:

Consideration of Standards Complaints

Minutes:

Complaint 1

 

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Legal Services which required assessment of a complaint in relation to a Councillor which said that he had breached the Council’s Members Code of Conduct.  The Director of Legal Services set out the complaint, as detailed in the report, and outlined the criteria to be used by the sub-committee for deciding whether a complaint should be accepted for investigation, dealt with informally or rejected.

 

Members had previously given consideration to the complaint but had requested further information before the matter was considered further.  Members gave consideration to the additional information and the options available to them.

 

RESOLVED that the complaint be progressed to investigation.

 

Complaint 2

Members had previously given consideration to the complaint but had requested further information before the matter was considered further.  Members gave consideration to the additional information and the options available to them.

 

RESOLVED that the complaint be progressed to investigation.

 

Complaint 3

 

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Legal Services which required assessment of a complaint in relation to a Councillor which said that he had breached the Council’s Members Code of Conduct. 

 

Members gave consideration to information provided to them and the options available to them.

 

RESOLVED the complaints not be progressed further as the individual was no longer an elected member.
