RESOLVED that Councillor Shuttleworth be elected Chair for the duration of the meeting.

RESOLVED that the Appeal Procedure be noted.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

That, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they contain exempt information under paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, and it would not, on balance, be in the public interest to disclose the reports.

Appeal

Minutes:

The Equipment and Adaptations Team Manager presented the case on behalf of the Authority with support from the Community Occupational Therapy Team Leader and a Community Occupational Therapist.  The appellant with support from a family member presented their case.  The appellant called a witness in support of their case.  The Committee asked questions of the local authority officers, the appellant’s representative and the appellant’s witness.

 

The Committee adjourned the meeting whilst deliberations took place regarding their decision.

 

The Committee requested that the Equipment and Adaptations Team obtain three quotes based on the appellant’s needs and adjourned the meeting pending receipt of the same.

 

Although not within the Committee’s remit in terms of this appeal, the Committee noted the appellant’s witness’s concerns about the functionality of his lift and requested that the Equipment and Adaptations Team investigate those concerns.

 

RESOLVED that the appeal be adjourned until receipt of additional information from the Equipment and Adaptations Team.
