RESOLVED that Councillor Battye be elected Chair for the duration of the meeting.

Appeal Procedure

Minutes:

RESOLVED that the Procedure for Appeals Against Adaptations Panel Decisions be noted.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

That, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they contain exempt information under paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, and it would not, on balance, be in the public interest to disclose the reports.

Appeal

Minutes:

The Equipment and Adaptations Team Manager presented the case on behalf of the Authority with support from the Deputy Head Occupational Therapist and a Community Occupational Therapist.  The appellant with support from a representative from Age Concern presented their case.  The Committee asked questions of both the local authority officers, the appellant and their representative.

 

The Committee noted additional information presented by the appellant from a Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist in support of the appeal.

 

The Committee adjourned the meeting whilst deliberations took place regarding their decision.

 

RESOLVED that the appeal be upheld in principle, subject to proof of title, as the application meets with requirements of Section 24(3) of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
