RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 13 June 2023 be approved as a correct record.

Exclusion of the Press and Public

That, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they contain exempt information under paragraph(s) 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, and it would not, on balance, be in the public interest to disclose the reports.

RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they contain exempt information under paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, and it would not, on balance, be in the public interest to disclose the reports.

DP/2023/16

The purpose of this report is to inform Members of an application for a new dual driver licence where a conviction recorded against the applicant calls in to question the applicant’s fitness and propriety to be a suitable person to hold such a licence. As such, the application has been referred to this panel for determination.

Minutes:

The Chair informed Councillor Wahid that due to his late attendance he would be precluded from taken part in this item of business.

 

RESOLVED that based on the information provided to the Panel, the application be refused on the grounds that not sufficient time has passed since the applicant’s release from imprisonment in line with Council policy.

8.

DP/2023/17

The purpose of this report is to inform Members of an application for a new dual driver licence where a conviction recorded against the applicant calls in to question the applicant’s fitness and propriety to be a suitable person to hold such a licence. As such, the application has been referred to this panel for determination.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that based on the information provided, a licence be GRANTED for a period of 12 months and subject no incidents occurring during that period, the licence will continue for a further 2 year period.

DP/2023/18

The purpose of this report is to inform Members of an application for a new dual driver licence where a conviction recorded against the applicant calls in to question the applicant’s fitness and propriety to be a suitable person to hold such a licence. As such, the application has been referred to this panel for determination.

Minutes:

RESOLVED that the application be REFUSED on the grounds of driving convictions and false information provided by the applicant following the convictions.

As such, the application has been referred to this panel for determination.

RESOLVED  that, based on the information provided, a licence be GRANTED for a period of 12 months and subject to no further incidents during that period the licence will continue for a further period of 2 years.
