The purpose of this report is to inform members of an application for the grant of a premises licence in respect of Dessert Point, Unit 1, 793 Ashton Road, Oldham OL8 2RJ, which, due to representations being received, has been referred to this Panel for determination.

Consideration was given to a report of the Principal Licensing Officer which asked the Panel to consider an application for the granting of a premises licence in respect of Dessert Point, Unit 1, 793 Ashton Road, Oldham OL8 2RJ, which, due to representations being received, had been referred to the Panel for determination.

 

On 21 April 2026 the applicant, S & A Desserts Limited applied for the grant of a premises licence for Dessert Point for the provision of late night refreshments Monday to Thursday 23:00 to 00:00 and Friday to Sunday 23:00 to 02:00. Representations had been received and were attached to the report at Appendices 14.4 to 14.11. Following the representations received, the applicant and Environmental Health agreed to the following hours Monday to Sunday 23:00 to 00:00 and during the Ramadan period 23:00 to 2.00am.

 

The Panel heard representations on behalf of the applicant and an objector.

 

RESOLVED that, having considered the statutory licensing objectives, in particular the prevention of crime and disorder and public nuisance, the Panel consider that it was appropriate for the premises licence to be granted for the provision of late night refreshment within the following times:

Mondays to Sundays 23:00-00:00.

During the Ramadan period: 23:00-01:00.
