A decision is required to secure continuity of Extra Care Housing services beyond the expiry of the current contract on 31^st March 2027.

The Governance, Strategy and Resources Scrutiny Board scrutinised a report of the Director of Adult Social Care, which informed Members that a decision was required to secure continuity of Extra Care Housing services beyond the expiry of the current contract on 31^st March 2027. While the industrial action and pay dispute remained matters for MioCare and Unison, they introduced uncertainty at a critical stage in the commissioning process. Given that procurement, contract award and mobilisation were expected to take up to six months, a decision was needed to enable timely procurement activity, minimise transition risks and ensure continuity of support for residents.

The submitted report, therefore, sets out the options for the future commissioning of Extra Care Housing services in Oldham when the current contract with MioCare Services Ltd expires on 31^st March 2027.

Resolved:

That the Scrutiny Board would consider the commercially sensitive information contained in the report, at Item 36 on the agenda before making a recommendation.
