A report seeking approval to proceed with the procurement of modern back-up tools through appropriate procurement routes.

The Governance, Strategy and Resources Scrutiny Board scrutinised a report of the Director of Digital, which informed Members that Oldham Council intended to strengthen its overall cyber governance and risk management approach by procuring modern tools and processes that support cyber resilience and regulatory alignment.

The Council aimed to maintain and improve its data protection cyber security posture. Adoption of modern back up and assessment tools would support more efficient governance, improved risk resilience, and alignment with national guidance.

Resolved:

That the Scrutiny Board would consider the commercially sensitive information contained in the report, at Item 35 on the agenda before making a recommendation.
