The Panel considered a report informing them of an application for the variation of the premises licence in respect of Greene’s Bistro and Parlour, Wade Row, Uppermill which, due to representations being received has been referred to the Panel for determination.

On 8 April 2025 the applicant Grandpa Greene’s Uppermill Ltd applied for variation of the premises licence to extend the licensable hours for the supply of alcohol from Monday – Sunday 11 am to 7 pm to Monday – Wednesday 11 am to 7 pm and Thursday – Sunday 11 am to 9.30 pm and to extend the opening hours on Thursday – Sunday from 9 am – 7 pm to 9 am to 10 pm.  Representations had been received which were attached to the report at Appendices 14.3 – 14.7. 

The Panel heard representations on behalf of the applicant and from three persons who had made representations.

RESOLVED: Notwithstanding the representations made, the Panel considered that the only licensing objective which was relevant to the application was the prevention of public nuisance. The Panel noted the representations made in respect of noise issues arising from the premises and were satisfied that it was appropriate to amend the requested opening hours and licensable hours to reduce the impact of noise from the premises on nearby residents as follows:

Sunday to Wednesday 11 am to 7 pm

Thursday to Saturday 11 am to 9:30 pm

Opening hours Sunday to Wednesday 9 am to 7 pm

Thursday to Saturday 9 am to 10 pm
