Decision Maker: Executive Director for Place & Economic Growth

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The school capital projects programme does not have a revenue budget for feasibility. The funding is required to support both early stage concept and detailed stage feasibility work. This work is required in order to advise the Council on cost and technical viability of future schemes

Decision:

RESOLVED - That:
Allocate £100,000 of the Basic Needs Education Budget towards the funding of feasibility to support the creation of additional school places and enhanced school infrastructure in Oldham schools

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 – Allocate £100,000 of the Basic Needs Education Budget towards the funding of feasibility to support the creation of additional school places and enhanced school infrastructure in Oldham schools.
Option 2 – Do not agree to allocate funding for feasibility. Separate reports will need to come forward to release basic needs funding on a project by project basis, for relatively small sums of money and would not represent an efficient use of officer and Members time

Alternative options considered:

Option 2 – Do not agree to allocate funding for feasibility. Separate reports will need to come forward to release basic needs funding on a project by project basis, for relatively small sums of money and would not represent an efficient use of officer and Members time
