To approve the award of a contract to Reed
Recruitment for the search and selection of permanent staff.
RESOLVED - That:
Award the contract to Reed following the Direct Award procurement
process.
Option 1 - Do nothing
Services will either have to resort to a more costly temporary
staffing solution via the existing temporary staffing contract or
leave the vacancy unfilled with the potential impact on service
delivery. There is also the risk that services will engage a
recruitment agency without the service being procured via the
required process and that associated spend will go
unmonitored.
Option 2 - Award the contract to Reed following the Direct Award
procurement process
An existing Local Government direct award procurement framework
that meets the Councils requirements has been identified. Reed, who
currently provide the Council’s temporary agency staffing
solution, have been assessed as providing the best value for money
and quality of the providers on the framework.
Option 3 - Run a further competition procurement process
This will allow the council to assess more bidders for the contract
however this will delay the establishment of the service impacting
the ability of services to fill vacant roles.
