Purpose:

This report seeks approval to make a direct contract award and to enter into a call-off contract with Bespoke Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Ltd to supply, on a hire basis, and install additional heating to Tommyfield Market for the autumn / winter months until the new Spindles Market hall is complete and all traders relocated out of Tommyfield Market – this is estimated to be early 2026.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That: Approve a direct contract award and enter into a Minor Works contract with Bespoke Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Ltd for the hire and installation of necessary additional heating to Tommyfield Market.

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - Do nothing and risk temperatures within Tommyfield Market dropping to level which will result in complaints and possible closure.
Option 2 - Approve a direct contract award for hiring of heating equipment to provide suitable additional heating.
