Gallery Oldham has been successful in a funding bid to Art Fund for £46k. Their ‘Reimagine’ funding stream is designed to support organisations to develop or refresh their core activities. The funding will provide match funding and enable added value to a planned redisplay of the Oldham Stories exhibition by appointing an external exhibition design company. A previous DDR was approved on 29 October by Cllr Dean and Emma Barton to accept this grant funding and progress this work.
Following a procurement exercise to appoint an exhibition design company the successful applicant is The Creative Core. The value of the contract is £68,650k
This company will undertake the designs, supply and fit out for the new exhibition at Gallery Oldham. This permanent exhibition of Gallery Oldham’s natural history collections will respond to public consultation sessions and will reflect the new offer developed within exhibition spaces in the Old Library.

1. To appoint The Creative Core to carry out this exhibition design work. This will ensure a high-quality exhibition, building on significant community engagement, focusing on Gallery Oldham’s natural history collections.
2. To not appoint The Creative Core to carry out this work. The Creative Core were the successful applicants following a full procurement process. To not appoint them would mean repayment of the £46k grant and exploration of delivering a display entirely from our core budgets.
