Purpose:

To ensure that Oldham residents have access to comprehensive infant feeding support, including a dedicated Infant Feeding Peer Support Service.

The purpose of the report is to seek approval to:
(a) extend the collaboration agreement for the Infant Feeding Peer Support Service with Tameside Council (as lead commissioner) and approve the increase of Oldham Council’s contribution

(b) authorise Tameside Council to enact the right to extend the term of the contract between Tameside Council (as lead commissioner) and the provider for the Infant Feeding Peer Support Service, for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2026.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That:

To approve the continuation of the collaborative commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both Tameside’s and Oldham’s contributions, for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - To cease the collaborative commissioning arrangements with Tameside Council at the end of the initial term of the current agreement (31 March 2025) and to not support the extension of the contract between Tameside Council and the provider.

Option 2 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they enact the contract extension at the original contribution rate for Oldham (no uplift or additional investment).

Option 3 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both Tameside’s and Oldham’s contribution, to support an uplift in staffing costs only for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.

Option 4 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both Tameside’s and Oldham’s contributions, for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.

Option 5 - To approve the continuation of the collaborative commissioning agreement with Tameside Council and request that they enact the contract extension and vary the contract to increase both Tameside’s and Oldham’s contributions, for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
