Purpose:

To approve a contract variation is awarded to the existing contractor The Hub Consulting Limited (T/A The Hub). Under the Contract Procedure Rules, it is proposed to apply an Exemption utilising Rule 21.3 (h) of Public Contract Regulations 2015.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That approval is provided to enable the existing contractor to undertake additional variations so that the project can be delivered without slippage of programme or impact on existing budget.

Reasons for the decision:

As set out in Purposes section. Option 1 Not to allow a contracts rules exemption. This would mean a new procurement process which would impact on costs and delay the programme. (Rejected Option)

Option 2 Allow the contract rules exemption to enable the project to be delivered within budget and not affect the programme. (Recommended option).
