Purpose:

The report seeks to procure regular clinical supervision for members of the Domestic Abuse team who support large numbers of high-risk domestic abuse victims, in order to prevent professional fatigue and vicarious trauma impacting upon their health, and wellbeing which would otherwise increase staff sickness and turnover.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That: the Council purchase 12 month’s clinical supervision for the members of the Independent Domestic Violence Adviser team from Intraquest CIC.

Reasons for the decision:

Option A Do not provide clinical supervision.
Option B Purchase clinical supervision for members of the IDVA team

Alternative options considered:

Option A. Without reintroducing clinical supervision, there is a risk of an adverse impact on the wellbeing and resilience of staff, which will result in increased staff sickness and turnover.
