In connection with the Eton/Star Academy and
Town Centre development proposals, the Council want to acquire the
freehold interest in an area of land that currently forms part of
the Tommyfield market and car park.
The purpose of the report is to seek approval to commence
negotiations to acquire the freehold interest in the land shown
coloured brown on the attached plan at Appendix 1 (Shenstone land)
and to appoint Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) to act on the
Council’s behalf to acquire the freehold interest in the
Shenstone land.
RESOLVED - That:
That the Council approve the appointment of Lambert Smith Hampton
(LSH) to act on the Council’s behalf to acquire the freehold
interest in the Shenstone land shown coloured brown on the plan at
Appendix 1.
That LSH commence negotiations now, on the terms detailed in the
report, and prior to the confirmation of funding for the Eton/Star
project, because if the land is not ultimately required for the
Eton/Star Academy, it will be required by the town centre developer
who will want clean title to the land.
Option 1 - To approve the appointment of LSH
to act on the Council’s behalf to acquire the freehold
interest in the Shenstone land shown coloured brown on the plan at
Appendix 1.
Option 2 - Do not approve the appointment of LSH to act on the
Council’s behalf to acquire the freehold interest in the
Shenstone land shown coloured brown on the plan at Appendix
1.
Option Two - Do not approve the appointment of
LSH to act on the Council’s behalf to acquire the freehold
interest in the Shenstone land shown coloured brown on the plan at
Appendix 1.
