Decision details

Allocate the S106 resources in accordance with the terms of the S106 obligations and award installation contract to the winning tenderer. This will allow improvements and connection between two large areas of green space improving the experience of accessing Green Space areas.

RESOLVED - That:
Approval for the allocation of resources secured through Section 106 agreement and subsequent award of contract to winning tenderer for the improvements to Paths and access to Oldham edge
from Salmon Fields, connecting residents to greenspace.

Option 1 - Allocate the S106 resources in accordance with
the terms of the S106 obligation and award the path works
and improvements to infrastructure to enable residents to
engage with their local greenspace, increasing physical
activity and interaction within natural environments,
resulting in improved wellbeing. Proposed works will
improve green space travel links between Oldham Town
Centre and Royton Town Centre and the allocation of a
sum towards the ongoing maintenance will ensure the
future of the improvements.
Option 2 - Do not improve the paths or encourage
increased activity and use of the greenspace at Salmon
Fields and surrounding area. Not using the Section 106
contribution would run the risk of having to return the funds
to the developer.
