This report seeks approval for the acceptance
of the returned tender submission and increase in budget provision
in relation to the electrical rewire at Mills Hill Primary School
– Junior Building.
RESOLVED - That: Accept the results of the
tendering and moderation exercise and award the contract to the
successful contractor.
Option 1 - Accept the results of the tendering
and moderation exercise and award the contract to the successful
contractor – Corlett Electrical, providing a new safe
installation that should last in excess of 20 years and increase
the budget provision previously approved by CIPB.
Option 2 - Undertake another tender exercise – not considered
a viable option as this scheme was already delayed 12 months due to
the pandemic and condition of the electrical installation, which is
reaching the end of its serviceable life. Not sufficient time to
undertake another tender exercise and complete works prior to
commencement of the September 2022 school term.
Option 3 - Do nothing – not considered a viable option due to
the poor condition of the electrical installation, which is
reaching the end of its serviceable life.
