The purpose of this report is to appoint a
contractor to remove asbestos containing materials from the
existing buildings at the former Saddleworth High School in line
with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and L143 Managing and
working with asbestos.
RESOLVED - That the Council seek to appoint
the contractor ranked the highest following the evaluation against
the set criteria highlighted within the CHWSF Mini Competition
tender document, to remove asbestos containing materials from the
existing buildings at the former Saddleworth High School in line
with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and L143 Managing and
working with asbestos.
Option 1 - That the Council seek to appoint
the contractor ranked the highest following the evaluation against
the set criteria highlighted within the CHWSF Mini Competition
tender document, to remove asbestos containing materials from the
existing buildings at the former Saddleworth High School in line
with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and L143 Managing and
working with asbestos.
Option 2 - do not proceed with a contract
award. In proceeding with Option 2, this would present a future
delay to the demolition of the school buildings and the Council
incurring additional holding costs associated with the
property.
