Decision details

Tender Approval - Royton Hall Primary School Classroom Extension

Decision Maker: Director of Education, Skills & Early Years, Executive Director for Place & Economic Growth

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The school have been advised to reduce their PAN back down to 45 from 60. This reduction however cannot come into place until September 2023 due to rules around admission policies. As the school already have 2 cohorts of 60 pupils and will have a further 3rd cohort of 60 PAN they have requested some reconfiguration works for a smaller room to be expanded to allow a full class to be taught in there and enable the smooth running of the school whilst the larger cohorts move through.
A competitive tender process for the works was undertaken via a mini competition under the Council’s Construction and Highways Works and Services Framework Agreement (2019) (CHWSF) – Lot 14.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That:
the Council seek to appoint E.Smith

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - the Council seek to appoint E.Smith

Alternative options considered:

Option 2 - The Council could choose to do nothing and not appoint a contractor at this time. This will mean that the work cannot be undertaken and a full class cannot be taught in the room which will cause problems for the larger cohorts moving through the school.
