Decision Maker: Cabinet Member - Health and Social Care

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To allocate £242k of COMF funding to provide additional funding to the previously established VCFSE Investment Fund known as the One Oldham Fund. Within this financial year it would focus on maintaining investment previously provided by the Covid19 Response Fund to enable VCFSE organisations continue to deliver the ongoing Covid19 response and to contribute to the delivery of Oldham’s Covid Recovery Strategy priorities.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That: Option 2 A further £242k investment is made to the VCFSE via the One Oldham Fund using COMF
This option is recommended to ensure continued role of VCFSE sector in Oldham’s Covid19 response and effective contribution to the recovery strategy and key outcomes. This investment will also benefit the sustainability of the sector over the short to medium term and provide a framework and learning for future strategic investment in the sector.

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - Option 1 No further investment is made in VCFSE from COMF
This is not regarded as a viable option this would significantly impact on the VCFSE sector’s ability to contribute to Oldham’s Covid19 recovery strategy, as well as on the sustainability of organisations in the sector over the next 6 months.
