The purpose of this report is to confirm that
the subject property is surplus to the Council’s operational
requirements and Officers are authorised to dispose of the property
via a procurement exercise as detailed below in order to protect
the existing use of the site by the adjoining school and community
uses and to facilitate investment to endeavour to bring the site
back up to F.A. standard.
RESOLVED - That: To advertise the disposal of
the freehold in the asset with an open tender exercise via the
Council’s Procurement portal – The Chest.
Option 1 - Retain the asset
Option 2 - To advertise the disposal of the freehold in the asset
with an open tender exercise via the Council’s Procurement
portal – The Chest – specifying the works required to
bring the site back into use. This is subject to the regularisation
of the occupation of St Margaret’s school under a new 25 year
lease and also consent from the SoS.
Option 3 - To re-run the original marketing exercise as a pure land
transaction amended as necessary to take into account the
investigation following the challenge to that process.
