The purpose of this report is to approve the
usage of the Rough Sleeping Initiative Emergency Accommodation
Allocation and seek approval to extend the current fixed term
contract of the Move on Support Officer (MOSO) until 31st March
2022.
RESOLVED - That:
Extend the NSAP Move-On Support Officer post to March 2022 and
utilise the remaining Rough Sleeping Initiative Emergency
Accommodation Allocation monies for ongoing accommodation
provision
Option 1 - Extend the NSAP Move-On Support
Officer post to March 2022 and utilise the remaining Rough Sleeping
Initiative Emergency Accommodation Allocation monies for ongoing
accommodation provision (recommended): This option ensures there is
sufficient balance between throughput and accommodation capacity,
and provides a long-term safety net for the service up to March
2022
Option 2 - Do not extend staff and commit all funding to
accommodation costs (not recommended): Whilst this would meet some
shortfalls in other pressures such as ABEN this would risk reducing
move on from what emergency accommodation placements should be, and
potentially increase costs overall
