Purpose:

The opening of the Egyptian Room as a food hall will significantly enhance the Parliament Square area and town centre economy, as part of the Creating a Better Place strategic framework and the corporate recovery plans following the CV19 pandemic.
The purpose of this decision report is to: Approve the letting and award a fitout contract following a procurement exercise.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That:
The approval of a letting of The Egyptian Room to a company who will operate a food hall.
Award a fitout and associated works contract to the successful tenderer following a procurement exercise.

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - Do nothing and remains un-used.
Option 2 - Convert to offices.
Option 3 - Wait for a single leisure use.
Option 4 - Undertake food hall fit out and lease to an established restauranteur as described in this report and welcomed as part of the Night-time Economy partnership
