Purpose:

To seek approval for the extension of an existing contract for a further 12 months to supply and fit tyres for Oldham Council’s fleet of vehicles and mobile plant.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That: the existing contract is extended for a period of 12 months.

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1: To approve the extension of an existing contract for a further 12 months to supply and fit tyres for Oldham Council’s fleet of vehicles and mobile plant. Pro Fit have provided a high quality and reliable service which is imperative for the replacement of tyres on council vehicles mostly used for front line services to the local community. Extending the contract will ensure continuity in service provision.
Option 2: To not approve the extension of an existing contract for a further 12 months to supply and fit tyres for Oldham Council’s fleet of vehicles and mobile plant. This would mean a new tender exercise increasing timescales due to the value of the contract, and in appointing a new supplier. This may incur higher charges as supplies would be provided on an ad-hoc basis and not covered by the tenders schedule of rates.
