Allocation of Section 106 Resources from DB 413 - (PA/341540) to Royton District Centre - Amendment to Traffic Regulation Orders

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member - Neighbourhoods

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

The purpose of this report is to seek approval for the allocation of resources secured through Section 106 planning obligations to fund a proposed amendment to the Traffic Regulation Orders along Park Street, Cardigan Street and Byron Street, Royton, further to the construction of new residential properties on the former Byron Street School and Police Station sites.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That:
To approve the allocation of £ 2,200 section 106 resources from DB 413 - (PA/341540) to Unity Partnership for the purposes of Royton District Centre – Amendment to Traffic Regulation Orders on Park Street, Cardigan Street and Byron Street, Royton further to the construction of new residential properties on the former Byron Street School and Police Station sites
That the Traffic Regulation Orders detailed in the schedule at the end of this report be introduced

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - To utilise the S106 contribution for the purposes for which it was paid and resolve the currently observed issues arising from the existing Traffic Regulation Orders and approve the recommendation
Option 2 - Do nothing. By not using the S106 for the purposes for which it was intended and not altering the Traffic Regulation Orders in this area, the residents of the new properties will continue to suffer from inappropriate parking issues. The Council will also not be fulfilling its obligations within the S106

Alternative options considered:

Option 2
