GMP Failsworth & Hollinwood Police Report PDF 1020 KB Report to follow. Minutes: Consideration was given to a report of the Oldham Division, Local Policing Team which provided Members with Crime and Anti-Social behaviour statistics between the dates of 17th November 2016 – 11th January 2017 in Failsworth,Hollinwood and Limeside. Members noted the report and made observations/asked questions. A question was asked about providing PCSOs powers in relation to fixed penalties. The meeting was advised that PCSOs powers were delegated by the Chief Constable and currently they were able to issue fixed penalties in relation to obstructions of the highway. The meeting requested that a letter be sent to the Chief Constable to request that further powers are delegated to PCSOs to be able to issue fixed penalty notices in relation to a wider range of offences permissible by law. A Member asked if Facebook was assisting/encouraging Members of the public to provide intelligence to the policing team in relation to crime. The Policing team advised that Facebook been used to receive intelligence and an example of this was that the police had received a number of messages in relation to a crime recently committed in Failsworth which had been posted on the GMP Failsworth site. A Member asked if PCSO Fiona, a mascot used for educational and community engagement purposes, could attend local schools to educate children about behaviour and manners. The Local Policing team agreed to look into this.
RESOLVED – That: 1. That the content of the Oldham Division, Local Policing Team report for the period 17th November 2016 - 11th January 2017 be noted. 2. That a letter be sent to the Chief Constable requesting that further powers be delegated to PCSOs enable the issuing of fixed penalty notices in relation to a wider range of offences permissible by law |

Failsworth & Hollinwood Budget Report PDF 115 KB Minutes: The District Executive gave consideration to a report of the Failsworth and Hollinwood District Coordinator which provided detail of the current spend/commitments of the Revenue and Capital budget allocated to the District Executive and individual Councillor Budgets 2016/17.
RESOLVED – That the funding allocation and current spend in relation to the Failsworth and Hollinwood Budgets as detailed within the report be noted.
