Purpose:

The purpose of the report is to consider the options available following the completion of a statutory advertising exercise regarding the Council's intention to dispose of land at Churchill Street East and South Hill Street, Glodwick which is currently identified as potentially forming Public Open Space (POS).

Decision:

RESOLVED - That the Council;
- Confirms that the subject asset is declared surplus to the Council's operational requirements and;
- Proceeds to enter into direct negotiations with the adjoining Mosque. Any transaction would be subject to further reporting in accordance with the Council's scheme of delegation and carried out in accordance with the Council's Land and Property Protocol.

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - Do nothing.
Option 2 - Declare the land surplus and proceed to enter into negotiations with a view to selling the land.

The Council advertised the proposed loss of POS in accordance with its POS protocol giving members of the public opportunity to feedback on the proposals.
