Purpose:
Sampling and testing of materials and
workmanship and the proving of compliance is an integral part of
all highways works. Sampling and testing at the discretion of the
Project Manager where deemed necessary is also a contractual
requirement.
The proposed supplier - Derbyshire County Council’s Highways
Laboratory provides a specialist materials consultancy, testing and
site investigation service to highways, infrastructure and
construction sectors and is fully accredited under the United
Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
UKAS is the sole accreditation body recognised by the British
government to assess the competence of organisations that provide
certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
Decision:
RESOLVED - That:
an exemption from CPR be granted for the procurement of
Derbyshire’s Highways Laboratory Services to undertake the
works
Reasons for the decision:
Option 1 - Approve the report, and award to
Derbyshire County Council for the sampling and testing of materials
and workmanship, in line with Oldham Council’s Contract
Procedure Rules.
Option 2 - Do not approve the report, and award to Derbyshire
County Council for the sampling and testing of materials and
workmanship, in line with Oldham Council’s Contract Procedure
Rules
