Purpose:

Through the GMCA, the Home Office has provided funding to the Oldham Community Safety Partnership to enable a robust strategic population health approach and response to be developed.
The creation of the post of Head of Violence Reduction has been determined by the Serious Violence Steering Group to be essential to this work. It is also essential to have the backfill arrangements in place (Community Safety Team Leader duties and Community Safety Officer) to ensure there is no interference to the wider community safety offer.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That: the creation of two fixed term posts be approved as follows:
1. Head of Violence Reduction and
2. Community Safety Team Leader and
and the fixed term backfill arrangement for the post of Community Safety Officer.

Option 1 - Approve the creation of the fixed term posts.
Option 2 - Not to approve the creation of the fixed term posts.
