The purpose of the report is to seek approval
for the Council to enter into a range of lease agreements with
Private Landlords to support and enhance the provision of more
Temporary Accommodation (‘TA’) properties as outlined
in the Council’s recently adopted Housing Strategy.
RESOLVED - That:
It is recommended that the Council:
• proceed to enter into up to 50 lease agreements with private landlords commencing with the initial cohort highlighted in Appendix one (and any pending properties not detailed within this report considered necessary to meet the Council’s
requirements), subject to the agreement of the clauses set out in the Council’s draft lease agreement (OMBC Draft Lease) in Appendix two.
• authorises the report author and/or his/their nominee in consultation with legal and finance officers, and the Director of Economy to negotiate terms to facilitate the recommendations
• authorise the Director of Legal Services or his nominated representatives to sign and/or affix the Common Seal of the Council to all contractual documentation and associated or ancillary documentation referred to above and/or required to give effect to the above authorisations, delegations and recommendations in this report.
