To approve the allocation of £14,524.51 Section 106 resources from DB412 - Land at Scouthead Filling Station (PA/341184) to Environmental Services to fund successional bulb planting on A62 Oldham Road verges between Doctor Lane and Wall Hill Road.

RESOLVED - That: the allocation f £14,524.51Section 106 resources from DB412 - Land at Scouthead Filling Station (PA/341184) to Environmental Services to fund successional bulb planting on A62 Oldham Road verges between Doctor Lane and Wall Hill Road is approved.

Option 1 - Do nothing: To do nothing would mean that the requirement of the S106 to use the commuted sum for the improvement of public open space within the landscaping on the verges at A62, Wall Hill Road through to Doctor Lane, to provide wildflower/bulb meadows would not be met. The bulb planting scheme would not go ahead as planned.
Option 2 - To allocate £14,524.51 to fund the scheme to carry out successional bulb planting on the verges at A62 Oldham Road , between Wall Hill Road and Doctor Lane. The scheme will visually improve the appearance of this transport corridor and provide additional seasonal colour.

Consultation was carried out as part of the planning process prior to the approval of the development. This process resulted in the requirement for the developer to enter into a S106 agreement and to pay a commuted sum for improvement of public open space within the
landscaping on the verges at A62, Wall Hill Road through to Doctor Lane, to provide wildflower/bulb meadows.
