The purpose of the report is to seek approval
for the Council to pay for and progress the construction of an
extension of the adopted highway at Gordon Street, Chadderton in
advance of funding being received from the Secretary of State for
Education.
RESOLVED - That subject to the Council;
- completing all necessary legal documentation set out in (i), (ii)
and (iii) of the Summary and;
- receiving the initial £20,000 from the SoS to fund the
highway feasibility and confirmation that they would
retrospectively fund and reimburse the Council;
the Authority commission the Unity Partnership to carry out an
initial feasibility for the extension of Gordon Street and prepare
and tender the opportunity for a contractor to carry out the works,
together with all consequential steps to adopt the road.
Option 1 - Do nothing.
Option 2 - Construct the access road now.
