The report seeks approval for the acceptance
of the most economically advantageous and methodologically sound
tender submission in relation to the reconstruction of the
retaining wall at A62 Huddersfield Road / Heywood Avenue,
Austerlands.
RESOLVED - That:
Option 1 is to reconstruct the existing dilapidated masonry
retaining structure using a fibre reinforced concrete structure
faced with masonry.

Option 2 is to do nothing and allow the existing masonry retaining
structure to further deteriorate. However, there is a potential
liability to the Council in the event of wall collapse and damage
to third properties or injury/death to person(s). There is also
risk to the integrity of the adopted public highway above the
retaining wall.
