Decision Maker: Executive Director for Place & Economic Growth

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

To allocate S106 resources to the Tudor Street public open space scheme. This will be as match funding to resources already allocated by the West Oldham District Executive towards this scheme.

Decision:

RESOLVED - That:
To allocate £ 4276.10 resources (including interest) secured through Section 106 planning obligations from DB 360 - Land at Jamiat-Ale-Hadees Mosque (PA/330749) to Environmental Services to fund improvements to Tudor Street public open space by creating a new path, seating area and associated landscaping (sensory garden)

Reasons for the decision:

Option 1 - 1.Do nothing: To do nothing would mean that the requirement of the S106 to make improvements to existing public open space in the area will not be met. This scheme has been developed in consultation with the District Executive and local councillors in order to benefit the local community, and not using the S106 funding would result in the scheme not going ahead as planned.
Option 2.To allocate £4,276.10 S106 to the scheme to make improvements to the Tudor Street public open space as additional resources to complete the scheme envisaged by local members. This is the preferred option.

Alternative options considered:

option 1
