The purpose of this report is to consider the
options available to the Council following the completion of a
statutory advertising exercise regarding the Council’s
intention to dispose of public open space in respect of the land
at:
82 Belmont Street, Oldham
RESOLVED - That:
It is recommended that the Council:
- Confirms that the land in question is declared surplus to the
Council’s operational requirements.
- Authorises Officers to dispose of the Council’s Long
Leasehold interest in 82 Belmont Street. The site is shown edged
red on the plan at Appendix 1 in the ways set out in Paragraph 4 of
this report and at the earliest opportunity.
- Authorises the Director of Economy and Skills to agree a reserve
price in advance of the auction.
Option 1 - To retain the land as public open
space.
Option 2 - To advertise a disposal by the Council of the Freehold
or remaining Leasehold interest (where a Freehold is not owned by
the Council), for a premium, by informal tender for a period of six
weeks.
Option 3 - To dispose of the Freehold or remaining Leasehold
interest (where a Freehold is not owned by the Council) for a
premium by way of Auction.
Option 1 - To retain the land as public open

or remaining Leasehold interest (where a Freehold is not owned by
the Council), for a premium, by informal tender for a period of six
weeks.
