Cabinet received a report which sought approval to award the Highway Framework Agreement for Surface Dressing, Microasphalt and Slurry Seal.
The report outlined the tender process undertaken and requested approval to award the framework contract.
Members were advised that the tender process was an open tender via The Chest, the value was £2,000,000 over 4 years and the contract would be let via mini competitions under NEC option B.
Option 1 To award the Framework Contract to the 3 contractors that submitted the most economically advantageous tenders and use the contract to fulfil the requirements of the Highways Department.
Option 2 Not to award the Framework and individually tender each scheme when it arose.
Consultation had taken place within Highways and Procurement to ensure all requirements of the department were covered in the specifications and pricing schedules.
RESOLVED: That the Framework be awarded to the three contractors as listed in appendix 2 of the report.
